Didn't want to air out cridentials, because I'm not doing it to brag.

Will just list a few things we've gotten done this past month.

In Alabama- Got 2 youngins enrolled in trade school. One going for pipefitting, the other for auto repair. Got them their TWIC cards.

In Michigan-got 1 youngin set to enroll in Truc driving school.

I don't have the answers to everything, thus I'm in this thread listening to others reasoning.

I sit in classes and listen to poor little black kids problems EVERY SINGLE DAY! I teach these same kids EVERY SINGLE DAY!

The lengths I go for a kid I see potential in is beyond what mfs on here would think. I’m just this ghetto ass chick according to you niggas and that’s fine with me because I’ve accepted it. This ghetto ass chick is one kids can relate to. One that kids can come and talk to when they feeling overwhelmed by their home life.

It is an every day battle dealing with these kids. Every hour battle while at work. It’s been times where I’m like I don’t wanna go back but no matter how muchhhhhh the kids stress me out. I can’t be like other people and quit on them. I can’t.

why not brag about it?

what because doing something shouldnt be talked about if it comes from a legit good place?

why cant black people brag about helping our own vs the niggas who brag about knocking people out and killing our own or who smashed who or who got a new car.

get what i am saying....

brag away my nigga we need to hear more about good shit.

and fuck if you have the answers or not......you are doing something. and thats better than nothing or adding to the problem.

i got a question.


so its the lil kid i see in my niece class. you can see hes the leader and they do as he says. he really stands out.....i talked to their teacher about him and she says that hes a great kid but he always gets so angry when its time to go home.

turns out his mom is crazy wreckless and it shows with him.

what can i do?....i see the potential but the mom is crazy...like for real. but i hate seeing him like that.

but all the kids know me because i am always in the class helping them or the teacher.

since you see this everyday....tell me what i can do other than leave it alone?

i am doing the same with abused women and children. giving them a shelter with help to either relocate of get on their feet.

its not a simple task....but our people need help.

You can’t do much of anything without a parents consent. No matter how much we don’t like how some of the parents may be raising their child, that is still their child. So we cannot insert ourselves into their lives unless it’s at school but even if the parent doesn’t want you speaking to this kid at school that’s her child, she has every right to say what she doesn’t want her child to be involved in.

I have bought clothes for children. I’ve bought jackets for children. I have bought shoes for children. I have washed children’s clothes who come to school in the same clothes they have worn for a week, clothes they slept in over night or clothes they have pissed in and stilll wore to school. You’ll be surprised at some of these parents reactions. Talk about pissed off! How dare you do something for their kid.

That's wild.. I'm no parent but I can't understand how someone could be pissed off at someone attempting to HELP their kid in those type of situations.. like folks have never heard "It takes a village...."

Sure there are some cases where folks should stay in their lane and let the parents deal with it.. but the examples you just gave? I cant imagine how someone could get pissed about that.. crazy

@Ghost313 is right. bragging about the good shit you do is virtue signalling. it aint about you, it's about uplifting them regardless of whether you get recognition for it.

It baffles me. Then the parent admits she’s been washing clothes out the tub but you call to the school HEATED someone washed your sons clothes in a washing machine because his classmates were saying foul shit about him to his face. He has since then come to school still smelling and I can’t do shit about it.

Theyre offended bc it exposes their shortcomings.

Like a father not doing for his own but dont want the mothers bf doing for their son either
 
Then this is a little boy who is damn near the smartest child in our grade. So, yes there is potential in him but home life is causing him to have issues and not be great.

Ag some point we need the story to be told to counter the negative.

I understand what y'all are saying...I do.

So speaking of help wouldn't uplift? Might give someone the courage to step out a do or help aswell.

With so much negative going on and coming out the hood....why would anything positive be grandstandjng? If its not being used pridefully or for gain ...I would think It would a breath of fresh air.

And besides...you never know who may offer help to complete your goal or help you help more people.

Great minds think alike but you wont know it if no one speaks about it.

Celebrate being an asset. We have enough leeches.

Apply that same energy to carpentry, plumbing, roofing, electricians, engineers.

The wrong shit is trendy. Maybe we need a black panther movie where he fixing houses in the hood pro bono

This is one of the places Detroit used to excel at back inna day. We had a number of Vocational Technical schools back inna day. A few of my boys went for shit like auto mechanics, culinary, plumbing, shit like that. One cat I worked with at Hardee's was going to VoTech as an aviation mechanic, another one that happened to go to school with me went for plumbing. One chick I dated went to one of the schools for some aviation shit and got a job straight out of high school working at Detroit City Airport parking planes and making bank. This shit used to fuckin work. You would come out of high school with a certification or some shit for a skilled trade if you didn't want to go to college. This was a legit option for these kids to come out and make good money.

@King Du , all that same shit you talking about, carpentry, plumbing, electrician... all that shit was FREE to DPS students. These are the kinds of programs that can can be put into place to give kids a future everywhere.





Welp... I had to google it to see if they're still there 'cause I remembered a convo on the IC where me and another cat from Tha D was talking about VoTech and how some of the schools shut down or something...

depends on the purpose of why it's being shared. is it to help another person see how they can help others too? are you mentioning your efforts as a practical example?

or are you saying it to pat yourself on the back?
