Welcome To aBlackWeb

Once Tom became CEO, he was doing a lot of loganish things. Telling Greg he owns him, Controlling Shiv and cleaning house to be loyal to him.
I peeped that shit too. Random, but I see a lot of parallels with this show and Yellowjackets. Not in terms of quality or subject matter, but in shifting power dynamics and how ppl respond to leadership and how their position changes them. All these mfs act different depending on whose attention they get

I think Tom gets the CEO job, putting the nail in the coffin on his and Shiv’s relationship.

Through all of this, Tom has been the steadying force at ATN, keeping the ship afloat. When everybody else was playing politics at the funeral, he was at ATN doing damage control and keeping shit straight.

Greg will be COO, completely pushing the kids out.

Book it.
Called it! Maybe not the Shiv part exactly, maybe not the Greg part exactly, but still, called it.

I think the Shiv move was too quick of a plot twist though. If they had one other thing happen between her and Kendall that gave her pause it would have been more believable. She was ALL IN with the Kendall move and fucking Mattson and Tom though, then in the board meeting was all of a sudden out.

Her running back to Tom once he won though was absolutely believable because she only respects that type of person because that’s who her dad was.

And she pushed Tom to be something he’s really not and he’s fucked for life now.

Disagree with this. Most of the season, she was working against Kendall. It was pretty clear she really did not fuck with him at all.

Plus the potential of the father of her kid becoming CEO made this an easier decision.

Yeah, but she went from crowning Ken to confident stroll to the board room to fuck Ken in the blink of an eye.

WOW. Tom always survives and now he's won even if he's an empty suit. Succession landed the series finale and there's an argument for it being on the Mt Rushmore of GOAT TV shows

“Tom being the eventual successor, that had been something that I thought was the right ending for quite a while,” creator Jesse Armstrong said during the episode’s edition “Controlling the Narrative,” which aired after the credits. “Even though he’s not exactly the most powerful monarch you’ll ever meet, his power comes from Matsson. Those figures who drift upwards and make themselves amenable to powerful people are around.”

“In a reductive, brutal way, Roman ends up exactly where he started. He is that guy still. And he maybe could have easily been a playboy jerk with some slightly nasty instincts and some quite funny jokes. He could have stayed in a bar being that guy, and this has been a bit of a detour in his life, I’d say,” Armstrong said. “Shiv is still in play, I’d say, in a rather terrifying, frozen, emotionally barren place. But she has got this kind of non-victory, non-defeat. I mean there’s gonna be some movement there. There’s still a lot of that game to play out, but that’s where we leave it, and it feels like it’s going to be hard to progress for them emotionally given the things they said to each other. For Kendall, this will never stop being the central event of his life, the central days of his life, central couple of years of his life. Maybe he could go on and start a company…but the chances of achieving the sort of corporate status that dad achieved are very low go, and I think that will mark his whole life.”
