Ja Morant is accused of assaulting a 17 year old

I see where @Lion_Heart is coming from and I was talking to family about this and even posted something similar in the NBA thread.

The big reasons he got jammed up the 1st time was due to him flashing it in an establishment that it was prohibited to do so. Not to mention, he was on the road in a different state with different gun laws. It’s prohibited for him to bring weapons in any team facility or entity.

Dude is most likely in Memphis, which is open carry and not at any team entity. If hai contract isn’t specific on the gun issue he might be able to legally fight getting suspended or fined.

I think what he did is stupid as hell and he should get fined, but he might have a case. I’ve seen video of Keldon Johnson with guns and I’m sure other players have video or photos so. Keldon was hunting and wasn’t being an idiot though. Lol.

Could be interesting if he chooses to fight it. It also could not if the contracts are more specific than we know about.

Conduct detrimental

Is that on the books in the NBA?

How Ja moving, he can get murked. He too accessible, and alcoholic, and invites alot of bad energy. I hope he doesn't Pop Smoke himself man smh.
Honestly that’s the thing I worry the most about with him. Memphis is different than a lot of NBA cities. Dude is moving a little too reckless in my opinion.

I hope he gets his shit together and realizes the mistakes he is making.

Thank you. I abhor guns especially since gun violence has affected my family and if he violated NBA rule(s) or broke the law suspend him.

I’m sure they have that in the contract, but what are the example of conduct detrimental? If the shit isn’t too specific any lawyer could easily win the case for him.

Some people felt the players speaking out for social issues is detrimental, while some don’t.

Once again, don’t take me stating this as me agreeing with his behavior, because I’m not. I just think this could be a slippery slope if shit isn’t specific and if he wants to really fight the punishment

Really surprised at the thoughts from the opposing povs

Flashing a firearm in public to violent music is a terrible look.

Remember he wasn’t at home

You don’t need to break a law to get disciplined (word to Kyrie)

The NBA is a image based business as well and you can’t look at this in a vacuum

Ja assaulted a 17 year old, threatened a finish line Worker, had his people point guns at the pacers, then brandished a gun in another city’s club shirtless around niggas

Then after the discipline he’s back like he don’t give a Fuck about nothing that happened prior

NBA said stop playing in our faces

Dude didn’t get suspended or fined for any of that shit outside of the strip club incident.

I agree 100% that image is important for this business and any other, but also think about why it took so long for the league to speak out on the strip club issue publicly.

He most likely isn’t going to fight the fine or suspension, but I think he could have a serious case if he did.

can’t speak on why the league didn’t do anything prior

Could be they didn’t have definitive enough proof or tried to protect him since he’s probably a top 3 popular player as far as growing the league due to his social media presence and viral highlights

But disciplining Ja helps him in the long run

Grow up lol
