Fragrance thread

Second sample I tried was Aventus Creed.. saw that it had pretty good reviews and wanted to see what the fuss was about. didnt really like it at first but it started to smell better as time went on.

Out of the two i've tried so far that I like that Gentleman edp joint more. Way more. I can see why folks say its more for cooler weather tho.

Im sure my unsophisticated fragrance nose isnt picking up on some of the subtleties.. im just going offa what I fuck wit tho.

Got a few more to try in the coming days.. maybe ill start picking up a pattern of which ones im more prone to like
Lol Aventus is like the Dior Sauvage of the niche world. Also you gotta make sure you get a certain batch of Aventus because the variations of it make it one of the most inconsistent fragrances out there.

damn.. youd think you would want your shit to be consistent.

I dont think I wanna rock with the ultra popular joints. At this point im just trying to see which notes resonate with me and then going from there

Creed uses natural ingredients. So based on time of the year, climate, supply, etc the smell and performance of the fragrance changes. So if the batch they making comes at a time where Pineapple is more available, that batch is gonna smell more pineappley(sp?). If more birch is available, that batch is gonna smell more smokey. Plus with the quality of natural ingredients dipping over the years it's affected the performance of the scent as well. Most say it don't perform now like it did back in 2012.

That's why all these Aventus clones are popping. The smell and performance are better and more consistent, because it's mostly synthetic. They not using real pineapple, vanilla, etc.

dope I didnt know that. I think thats the reason that Im not big on sauvage like that. I cant explain it really but it smells synthetic and damn near chemical to me. Maybe it's just how it is on me *shrugs*

You not the only person who thinks that about Sauvage. Trust lol

Next sample is Y (EDP).

Initial thoughts is that joint smells a bit too sweet to me initially. It's toning down a bit though.

Do yall find that alot with your fragrances that you might not rock with the smell initially but come around to it later as it "settles"? Not sure if thats the right terminology or not but yall know what I mean

What you’re describing is the “opening” and the “dry down.” That’s why when you I. The store trying stuff it’s good to walk around with it for a bit to see if you like what the scent settles into after the opening spray

seeing a pattern that im tending to lean more towards fragrances that folks say are meant for cooler weather.

I like that Spicebomb Extreme joint

95% of my collection is geared towards cooler weather. I've been looking for a couple summer time gems to add to my collection.

I got a sample of "Blockade" from Mind Games I've worn a couple times. I think I might cop a bottle eventually.

Bleu de Chanel is one of those colognes that's like cat nip for me...
