Dude talk like he's won something, just rubs everyone the wrong way
He hasn't said anything egregious. He has confidence in his squad. Nothing wrong with that. Yall bitch when niggas be passive-aggressive. Now that a nigga is saying what's on his mind, it don't count bcuz he hasn't won anything. That's weird. 85% of the league need to shut the fuck up then. Jimmy be talking that shit. He ain't won shit either. It's funny to me bcuz Luka is just as cocky but they call his shit having swagger.

I will say this about Ja.

FUCK THE GRIDDY!

They already catch heat for the Luka trade. If they were to end up trading him that would be super strength ether.

That's Tatum for Fultz territory.
The guy who made the Luka trade not even around anymore so it’s cool. Also the Luka trade won’t matter if you get the right return for trae

also what about the ether for trading 3 FRPs and you can’t get even out of the play in?

What about the huerter trade? lol

Let’s worry less about saving face and actually try to improve the team long term

Build around a player that the Spurs didn't see as a franchise player and sold high on?
1. The spurs saw an opportunity to get better Long term and took it.

2. Even if they didn’t think he could lead their franchise that doesn’t mean he’s not worthy of it in a different one

3. I would say it’s easier to build around a 6’4 guard who’s more efficient, exceptional on both sides of the ball, and not a liability on the defensive end who would be cheaper too

They saw it as an opportunity to get better Long term and they knew Murray is a nice player but not the type to build around

Not a great shooter and not a great playmaker...being great defensively as a point guard is a luxury but isn't really a necessity, much more important to be able drive efficient offense

Trae is having a terrible year shooting the ball and nobody else on the team can make a 3 either right now but typically Trae has shown he can be the engine of a good offense

Murray is cheaper for now but he going to be looking for a max contract as soon as next season

I'm not hating on the concept of trading Trae Young, I don't think that's necessarily a bad idea and might even happen....but legitimately trying to build around Dejounte Murray is setting yourself up for perennial 8/9 place finishes

Would you rather this current group or

Murray
Trent Jr
Hunter
Pat Williams
Okongwu

With a better bench?

If you trade Trae you trade for his equivalent. Murray is a #2. He's nice but imo he's not the carry a franchise type.
I think we’re focusing on the leading the franchise thing a bit too much

Why do you think trae isn’t Murray’s equivalent?

he just came off a season averaging an efficient 21/9/8 and 2 steals and was an allstar

What else do you have to do ?

either way if I have to choose out of the two to move forward with it’s going to be murray because I don’t have to worry about building around him to mask his deficiencies

He’s a #3 on a championship team.

He no where near good enough to be a real 1.

Building around him is building for a lottery pick every year till you find a franchise player.

Hawks should Trade Trae and build around Murray

unload him and capela before the season starts again

that ain’t a hot take that’s just facts.

I remember watching the Hawks play the Nets a couple weeks ago without Trae and the offense ran better without him and I said the same thing lol

I can totally see the Knicks making that trade to the Hawks and giving up RJ. The idea of “Broadway Trae and Brunson: the best back court in the league” is such a James Dolan idea
:hahaha:
