They know there's gonna be backlash about replacing the character with another actor, so they don't want to add fuel to the fire.

From the trailer, he almost looks like a CGI character.


Meaning, it seems like the makeup people went out of their way to make him............"look".............like Malcolm.


Whereas the original actor just had a natural resemblance to him.
