That discipline deals with textual facts of what various manuscripts contain or don’t contain. Many non-religious scholars can tell about this I’m sure. I have no issues with that.
But what they can’t do, with any heavy measure of conviction, is rightly divide the scriptures and make sense of what the Bible actually says/means. That’s the part I’m getting at. Non-religion practitioners can read it all day, but they still can’t seem to understand what the Bible is saying. They may have facts about the text, but what they don’t have is knowledge of the text. The Bible already speaks on the reason why it’s this way. It’s not an intellectual issue. According the Bible it’s an issue with the heart of the reader.

Well I’m glad if you think so. It’s meant to be understood and I believe we can all arrive to the same reading fundamentally.But now that I think about it I’m not too sure who has more trouble doing that, those in the religious community or those outside it. But I still believe a non believer will run into brick wall at some point in trying to study .
