Yea I got in an argument wit a sista that runs a corner store down here for having those weekly mugshot papers in her store.
On the front of the paper was three brothas and a white woman, who’s mug shot were dead Center. And at the bottom with 6 inches between and tucked in the corner was a white mans mug shot.
Two of the brothas were charged with..I shit u not, minor marijuana possession. And the other brotha was charge with failure to pay child support. They are prominent on the front middle with a white woman charge with distribution of herion.
And the one white guy tucked at the bottom charged with distribution and producing meth.
And I’m telling her how racist it is two have 3 brothas charged with misdemeanours on the front page dead Center with 2 white folks charged with fellonies.
For people who just glance at the paper without reading it. You’d think they did some major shit and white dude and the chick were just addicts.
And she says it’s no big deal and no one ever actually takes any of the papers. I told her that’s the point, it’s just there as suggestive imagery. You don’t see those papers on the affluent parts of town. Only in places where people fear to be cause the majority of folks there are black, Mexican, and low income whites.
