OPINION XXL’s 2022 Freshman Class

Its a far cry from this class...

A Look At Every XXL Freshman Cover Since 2007 | Parle Mag

All I know is Nardo and Big30

Im just getting old...🤷🏾‍♂️

They still need to put Doggystyleeee up there.

Good to see Doechii made the list, while I wouldn't say I'm a fan, I do hope she goes far. She seems like a natural.

Her fans are obnoxious, though.

Most of them didn't blow

The fact most of that class is still relevent (even more so in some cases) 15 years later shows how susceful theyve been...

Joell and Crook were in huge group and have both dropped AOFTY contenders atleast once...

They may not had been pop stars (other than lupe) but Joell, Crook, Saigon, Pap are highly respected MC's in hip hop and very well known with hip hop fans...

Rich Boy has a few classic tunes, Boosie is not my cup of tea but has a loyal fanbase and us a hip hop celebrity...

I hazard a guess that nearly everyone in the list is finically secure for life through hip hop and never has to work or trap again...

No it ain’t..... :hahaha:

Ain't nobody mentioned Saigon, seriously, in like 15 years.

At this point Boosie more known for his Vlad interviews and asking broads on IG to show him their titties.

Pap ain’t never been shit.

And most the rest of them niggas had 1 hit/album and haven't done much of shit since like 09.

Lupe and MAYBE, Ortiz/Crook is carrying this class. That's 3 niggas..... :lol10:

@Revolver Ocelot

Joell & Crook had one of the dopest albums of 2020/2021 with H.A.R.D and are constantly putting out dope music...

Saigon still pops up on tunes and is active in the industry doing shows etc even Rich Boy still puts out music...

Pap, yeah hes not really known for putting out music put still pops up at events etc so hes still around...

Lupe is Lupe... Boosie is still around doing crazy things and keeping his name relevant...

When I say relevant, I mean they are not 1 year wonders, (or even less judging by some of the freshman year covers)... They are from the era of Lil Flip, MIMS, Chingy, Dem Franchise Boys etc... All the rappers I named are still in the industry getting money one way or another after appearing on the cover over 15 years ago...

Ain’t this the music section?

Wasn't they chosen for the XXL cover cuz of their music?

IDGAF is they selling t-shirts now, musically all but 3 of them are irrelevant.

This sound bias AF man. Just because y'all don't know these guys on this list doesn't mean it's a "far cry"

That's ignorant to even think that. Decent amount of people on here have success fanabases already established. Is their my type? Hell nah, but just because it ain't for me doesn't mean it's not working for them.

My point was more about the skill of the MCs and the longevity and commercial and/or underground success the class of 2007 had...
