All 3 of the situations you mentioned aren't the same tho. It's case by case basis. Nba players will always have the leverage when it comes to the cba tho.

Situations are different but the results are the same, which is players dictating when they play. That's bad for business and just because the NBA owners aren't as harsh as the NFL doesn't mean they don't want that to continue. They will push back on some of the stuff that's been going on lately, especially with the CBA expiring in 2-3 years.

NBA owners simply can't be as harsh as NFL owners in today's climate and the players know this. With that new tv deal about to hit nothing is going to change but the salaries. The NBA is a players league.

I agree but NBA team owners could definitely make it a rough for the players if they chose to. I think they realize it just doesn't make sense for them to be like the NFL owners.

If they could they would. NBA players are too unified for that. NFL players would never collectively come to an agreement to walk off or lockout. They couldn't even get on code to kneel. NBA players understand the socioeconomic power they hold over the league right now being a very black player dominant league. We're seeing them extend that power to coaching staffs and management now.

Cosign. That's like the Raptors caring about damon Stoudemire or Vince Carter. It happened, it's over. Give em a video tribute and keep it moving. You don't owe them anything. Especially when they ultimately chose to move on whether directly or indirectly.

Pelicans way to young a franchise to have to have those ties to anyone anyway. It will come.

i some what agree with your point.

the best thing the NBA players have going for them is it’s not as many players in the league like the NFL. With that being the case, it’s a little bit harder to separate the “have’s and the Have not’s”

where I agree with you is for sure the NBA owners are going to try and change some things in the CBA and will definitely get some items changed because it’s still a good amount (not as many as the NFL because it’s more players all around) of players that are living pay check to pay check. Not too mention it’s too many grumblings of owners not liking the way players are being able to force their way out of places with years still left on deals.

Folks who keep saying the players have a ton of leverage (which they do to an extent) keep forgetting that the B.R.I. Basketball related income cut has went down in favor of the owners the last few times they have tweaked the CBA. It used to be in higher favor for the players but now it’s 50/50.

IMO when the next CBA comes around if the already wealthy owners decided to lock the league out for a better deal. All those players making 40mill a year ain't about to take of the players who don't have money like that for no extended period time cause they got their own bills and families to pay for. The owners don't need the NBA to make money damn near all the players do. All the player unity ain't going to last but for so long in that scenario. The owners can withstand an extended lock out the players can't. That has been shown before.

Like I said I agree with you but there are things the owners could do but they don't really need to cause at this point it wouldn't be good business.
