ESPN SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill is leaving the 6:00 p.m. SC6 edition of SportsCenter to join the staff of The Undefeated, the ESPN microsite that fuses sports, race and culture, as well as other additional assignments. Multiple sources confirmed that Hill asked management for the switch. She is expected to depart SC6 in February.

Last February, ESPN relaunched SportsCenter as SC6 with Jemele Hill and Michael Smith as its new anchors. In September, Hill notably became a subject of national conversation following a string of tweets in response to comments about President Donald Trump, including one where she called the President "a white supremacist." A White House spokeswoman called for Hill to be fired and Trump also responded to Hill on Twitter. ESPN released a statement saying Hill's comments "do not represent the position of ESPN," and later, the network suspended Hill for two weeks for violating its social media policy.

Earlier this month, Hill was a guest on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast, where she openly discussed her tweets about Trump and the White House reaction to those tweets; whether she fits into the SportsCenter paradigm; how much management discusses ratings with her; what she hopes 2018 will bring, and much more.

ESPN is under new leadership since the their president announced his resignation......they are now trying to lean towards the middle of social - political issues

I think it's a good move for her.

You can kinda tell She felt sorta restricted. Plus their show pretty much turned into the same SC shows that came on at 6.

Exactly.

It wasn't exactly a demotion as much as it was subtle coercion.

The higher-ups at ESPN sabotaged her and Michael Smith as soon as they got rid of His and Hers and tried to pass off the 6pm slot as some type of promotion.

Then again, she's gotta take some blame for ruining "The 6" too because she couldn't stop running her mouth on twitter.

Got to a point where they said they were gonna shut her down by having them do a regular sportscenter show in which there wouldn't be much time for them to do a lot of talking........just basically having convos with other sportscasters about upcoming sporting events.

If I was Michael Smith I'd be heated.

Not at ESPN, but at Jemele for not being able to stay off Twitter.

Smartest move for them would be for her and Michael Smith to bounce to FS1 when their contract is up.

They've pretty much reached their ceiling at ESPN.

Let them takeover that bullshit spot with Cris Carter and that white dude with that white moderator chick who just sits there with a constant bitchface.

No reason for that show to be 3 hours long.

Cut it down to 90 minutes and then give Jemele and Mike the other 90 minutes right before Undisputed.

Nah some niggas hate her and said she hates black men lol
Because plenty of black men rode for her after the white supremacists (including Trump) were attacking her over opinion that Trump is a white supremacist. Only for her to co-sign an article attacking straight black men. And don’t try to play facetious because if it were the other way around black women would feel a certain way.

And they would be just as stupid

the 6 was trash naming it after drake's album they were kinda funny talking sports but when they did hiphop mentions and other shit it was cringe worthy
