That's because he was not thinking about her when planned that party, HE planned that with his ego in mind. I totally get not wanting something that over the top, it can be overwhelming and uncomfortable for someone who is more introverted.

Nah you gotta know the person you're with and what they like and plan accordingly. If your spouse isn't one for big celebrations then saying they should be grateful if somebody throws them one isn't about them it's about the ego of the person throwing the party. If you tell somebody you want water and they bring you a soda you'd probably be annoyed they didn't listen to you and instead gave you what they thought you wanted instead of what you actually asked for

That goes back to the ego thing tho. If I'm dying of thirst, aside from the soda drying my throat even more I would be grateful regardless. Jada isn't necessarily dying of thirst in this case, but to insult Will's ego say a lot about her own ego. Ego oftentimes clashes with ego... it's like getting mad at someone filming themselves feeding the homeless. There's one less person starving in the streets, what do you care they're trying to get their TikTok followers up? Worst case scenario, she didn't get the ideal celebration and communication was off in planning it. This is why she said the other week she shouldn't expect him to read her mind... that leads to failed expectations and overreactions like that.

It's definitely a two way street and nobody is saying you should be able to read your partners mind. At the same time though after a certain point you should know their likes and dislikes and it's not a wild thing to expect your spouse to know if you do or don't want something like a big ass party.

One thing I see people tend to have an issue with in general, not even in just romantic relationships, is that they often struggle to find a balance between helping or showing affection and love the way they want to vs the way their s/o wants to them. It requires give and take on both parts but there's also some shit that is always gonna be a no go. So if you know your s/o hates something yet you do it anyway because it's what you wanna do for them then that's just foul.
