August Alsina: Will Smith Gave Me His Blessings To Be With Jada.. Update. Jada & Will have been separated for 6yrs.

Bruh, she’s in the industry.
She knows how to avoid shit and not speak on shit until needed.

entanglement ring a bell?

In this instance she wasn't speaking on shit but herself and her own issues and growth...and people still went out of their way to misconstrue what she said. So again is she just supposed to never speak again?

I’m not sure why you keep placing it on her being silent.

She spoke about herself and her own issues and people turned it into "she's taking another shot at Will". Before when they didn't say shit at all people still had all sorts of wild shit to say about them. So technically you're right...being silent wouldn't stop people from making shit either.

Will Smith will open up about his regrets as a father in his upcoming memoir Will which is set for a November 9 release.

Will Smith will open up about his regrets as a father in his upcoming memoir Will which is set for a November 9 release.

In an excerpt shared with People on Friday, the 53-year-old actor recalled how devastated his son Jaden, now 23, was after the critical and commercial failure of their 2013 film After Earth.

'After Earth was an abysmal box office and critical failure," the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor wrote. 'And what was worse was that Jaden took the hit.'

'Fans and the press were absolutely vicious; they said and printed things about Jaden that I refuse to repeat. Jaden had faithfully done everything that I'd instructed him to do, and I had coached him into the worst public mauling he'd ever experienced.'

The Pursuit of Happiness actor was heartbroken when Jaden, who was 15-year-old at the time of After Earth's release, told him he wanted to be emancipated.

'We never discussed it, but I know he felt betrayed. He felt misled, and he lost his trust in my leadership," Smith said. 'At fifteen years old, when Jaden asked about being an emancipated minor, my heart shattered. He ultimately decided against it, but it sucks to feel like you've hurt your kids.

After Earth to me? Really wasn’t special but it wasn’t that bad. That movie was Wills attempt to haze in his son, on his terms. Which is admirable honestly. All men should be willing to do for their children.

thar whole emancipation? Hey it is what it is.

I still say that the lashing that After Earth took in the press was steeped in some racist bullshit. These crackas can't help themselves.

I saw it in theaters with my son and I bought it for him on DVD when it released. So I've seen it on multiple occasions.

It's not a perfect film but it did NOT deserve to be shit on like it was. And as far as sci-fi joints go, there's MUCH worse movies in the all-holy Star Wars Canon (including the OG trilogy).

I recall the press narrative being heavy about 'nepotism' and how Will was tryna put his son on. But what the FUCK else was he supposed to do? These white folks in Hollywood and mainstream culture do the same thing.

It just felt very "Ok n*gger, we deal with you, but don't get ahead of yourself. Fuck them kids."

Again...if the movie was flat-out trash, and deserved the level of hate, I'd join the roasting. But something else was up. It's a shame that some bad-faith reviews could've torn this family apart.
