2020/2021 College Basketball/Prospects Thread

Is there anyone you guys would say is better than Jalen Green (or Evan Mobley)? Going to start to intensify my look at the prospects and these two seem to me to be the best.

Pls don't say Cade Cunningham. It would be crazy to pick Cade over Jalen IMO.

tldr: Cade is best, Mobley could challenge if motor is better, Green is good.

The wild man in me can make a case for Evan Mobley as the best player in this draft. He is solid defensively, handles the ball pretty well for a big man, solid post moves and has shown decent shooting range. If he can improve his motor (big if), show that the passtalent he flashed in college is legit and improve his three point shooting to the 37-40% range, then we have on our hands a unicorn.

As for Green, a player I like, miss me with the Green >>> Cade. Cade is already a better defender, passer, shooter, and has legit size.

Green’s athleticism is game changing and could close the gap if he adds more skills to it. I have heard he has a great work ethic, so I think he will keep getting better. He is definitely in my top 4 (maybe top 3, but I have a soft spot for passers like Suggs).

The wildcard is Jalen Johnson. @A.F.R.I.C.A put me on to him before the season. Saying him and Duke were not a good fit is an understatement. But he still showed flashes when he played. I always give great passers like him (especially for his size) the benefit of doubt.

His shooting is going to be what makes or breaks him. The kid can do almost everything else.

Aint gon lie I’m torn between Mobley and Green for the second pick.

23 and 24 I don’t think we make those selections. Either trading up or trading for A veteran.

Who would you say has a higher ceiling? I think that is Green. If you agree, you should agree with me in picking Green over Cade.

Interesting question. I guess i am higher on Cade than u are. There is a possibility Cade is Luka with better defense. I think (hope) his passing will shine more in the NBA. The lack of spacing at OK state really affected that area of his game.

I like Green's game and potential, but i just think Cade is special.

read not too long ago that he quit on his hs team his senior year too. JJ is talented for sure but hes going to slide further then he should. I honestly believe if it weren’t for the character concerns he would be regarded as a tier 1 guy possibly ahead of Barnes and Kuminga. Someone is going to take a gamble on the kid in the lottery tho. I got him in the 8-14 range. Could be the steal of the draft

Got a weird feeling the Pistons fall in love with Mobley and look to swap with the Rocks. Would you trade KPJ/Unprotected 2022 + 23/24 for a swap?

It makes more sense Imo to get a guard but idk about these guys to know if Mobley is the bonafide best available pick regardless of position
