Ladies: the Prince and the Pauper

All the men I have dated were either in college with me or in their early careers like me. I have never dated a man who is wealthy in his own right even though most of them are on the right path to good money careers. At best there was this one dude who was foreign and his family was considered upper class or wealthy in his own country.

That one dude did come across far more into materialistic stuff than other men. Had a nice sports car, "needed" a nice apartment instead of a modest one that was more common with students. He had less understanding for the poor and the less fortunate, but I think that was also because he is not an empathetic person, which may have more to do with being male than class. Many poor men have no issue looking down on women and others who may have a different disavatange.
Very interesting post Bandida. I'm fascinated by the bolded alone, makes for all kinds of discussions.

This is a thread for the ladies, papa Du. Make one in the relationship or cool table forum if y'all wanna participate!

Girl, I have so much to say lol idk where to start. Had mirror experiences all over the spectrum, tho I only been on dates with 3 men.

have u been approached by men like this n had to turn them away on grounds of lack of drive? or is it something u have not dealt with?

I'm approached by all types. I ask questions when we have conversations and go from there.

I've dated them all chile, dead broke Mike to cashin' out Sean and I've learned that they all are niggas at the end of the day :mhm:

Pretty much always dealt with ppl on my level. No real issues other than personalities or circumstances.

If a baller could snatch me up that'd be great tho
:yup:

Never been involved with a rich or wealthy guy. The men I have dated were either in my tax bracket or lower.

I must admit that I got frustrated in one relationship bc he was broke and comfortable with it. I was supportive mentally, physically, and financially. Although he had ambition, he put no effort in. It was kind of like having faith without work. I realized sometimes you can't help ppl if they won't help themselves. I couldn't be his lifetime crutch.

I don't really have anything to compare and contrast as far as men in dif socioeconomic standards. I havent dated many men, but I can say that the ones considered nonwealthy have been down to earth and great improvisers.

So far I have only dated working class men. Personally, I'm not attracted to the flashy baller type. Not saying I wouldn't date a wealthy man, just saying I'm not a materialistic person and probably wouldn't feel comfortable with one. My father was a working man who worked his entire life, 12 plus hours a day so that may have something to do with it.

I did date someone, once who made less than me and it did not work out well. I guess he felt as though people looked down on him or felt less of a man. Who knows? I, on the other hand, couldn't have cared less because I never expected him to support me. So, at this point in my life socioeconomic class just isn't something I care about. Maybe when I'm ready to settle down and start a family it will.

I just got approached by a dude who hangs out at this gas station by my job everyday.

Disrespectful.
He was disrespectful or it was disrespectful of him to even approach u? Lol

On the bolded, does wealth evoke images of materialism in ur mind? I ask because conspicuous consumption isnt usually associated with the wealthy unless it's celebrities or something.

In what way do u think ur views will change when ur ready to start a family? Wld u say ur ideal man is based on ur father?

Great post btw

Disrespectful of him to approach me.

We all have those moments tho. Wld make for another good topic. U ever feel some kinda way bout who approaches u?

Idk, I don't really care but I care to an extent. You don't have to be ballin but you should be able to take care of yourself and have something put away in the event of an emergency. I've never cared about flashy guys though. If your wardrobe is on point but you late on your car payment I'm judging. I prefer a man who looks homeless and got it to one who don't got it but stay with an iPhone and the new Jordan's. That drives me nuts.
