Judging is not the same as helping. To judge someone else, first you must judge yourself to know where the line of judgement is. You limit yourself and others when judging. And I'm not taking the puny filtered judgement others have of me seriously.

1. I'd like to think that "ultimately" would be incuded by may people who say that. Obviously, judgment can be rendered by anyone at any time, and it should so long as it isn't hypocritical nor unjust, which is the actual point of Matthew 7:1, and following, "judge not....." Ultimately it is the eternal judgment by God that will matter in the end. Interestingly, heeding judgment from others could make that ultimate judging go a bit smoother...

2. Some folk deserve jail. They can serve a necessary good. I would not wish that anyone be treated less than human, however.

A better statement would be something like, "you can't have money and spend it too." At least you have two viable options, save or spend.
