The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

When I say "people talk" I'm not just talking anecdotal from a handful of people, although it's funny people want to discount it for this but will rely them to not take vaccines in general, I'm talking actual research still being done on these long term effects. That's why I said that "survival rate" number is just people focusing on simply not dying. Yeah you didnt die but what's your quality of life like afterwards?

The research so far indicates that 99% doesn't get any long term affects...

What the virus does is expose a lot of fragile people who might have experienced similar long term side effects if they experienced another virus or disease.

Like myself for example, went to China as an exchange student, everyone got diarrhea due to food poisoning, when I had it, I started shitting blood, fucked up my colon, got hospitalised for 8 weeks n had to take prednisolon for 6 months n now, allmost 10 years later I still take meds for my colon lol smh.

I get the irony of using anecdotal evidence again but my point is that we're all mortal, our time on this planet is limited and at some point we have to accept that life is full of dangerous shit which we cannot control.

I just used a tool to find out where I'm on the list
-

The EMA - the organisation that approves meds n vaccines for the EU - stated that kids below 16 are not allowed to take the Pfizer vaccine...

It's interesting how America n Europe differ vaccine wise...

I'm not worried about what I cant control...I'm worried about what I can control which is having something to combat this virus should I ever get it. And I ain't talking no "just take some sea moss, drink tea and you'll be fine" silliness. If it was just as simple as "well 300k people.in this country would've died or been fucked for life from something else eventually" then it would've happened before this with all the other diseases that exist. But it didn't. It was this 1 virus that did it. I have no problem accepting that death is inevitable but I ain't about to speed up the process of rushing to it.

My mind state was similar last February but now we're allmost a year further - I live in The Netherlands - back in a full lockdown, in an economic crisis, massive inflation - my generation can forget getting a damn mortgage lol - people are losing their jobs n minds over here. The economic consequences and prospects are dire. Government is already talking about a 3rd or 4th wave in autumn 2021, shit is depressing.

There seem to be different agendas worldwide regarding how to open back up... The west is late n fucking up... We're in a lockdown now and we will slowly open up in correlation with how many folks are vaccinated, minister of health is out there considering perks for those who have the vaccine etc, shit is crazy.

Meanwhile folks back in Asia are living it up on the gram lol. Even in Morocco people are BBQing n shit like it's all good smh...cause there is always a crisis in the maghrib lol.

Lucky you. I dont even mean that sarcastically. I'm certain having a government that didnt make the pandemic response a political debate point helped out and is a huge reason the US is a laughing stock right now
