I may lose my eye

Prayers and a speedy recovery to you, Race. You got this. ??

And for future reference to the forum, there are contacts that allow you to sleep in them. I use Air Optix Night and Day Aqua.
Do you wear them for the 30 days and only take them out to shower? I'm gonna ask my eye doctor to look into that but they probably don't work if you get dry eyes when wearing contacts

I wear them 24/7. Toss them after 30 days. I use eye drops made for contacts in the morning or twice a day.

I know the feeling. I have type 2 diabetes and I had a mix up at the pharmacy where I was taking the wrong medication for about a month. My vision got blurry. I couldn't even read the computer screen. I had to buy a pair of glasses just to read the screen.

So I had some bloodwork done and sent it to my primary care physician. She said I should go to the emergency room because my blood sugar was over 500 (it's supposed to be between 80-120).

But I got everything straightened out.

Anyway, good luck!

Gotdamn. Who's fault. Yours or theirs?

Hey guys so yesterday i learned i have an ulcer in my cornea. I woke up on monday and was unable to see out of my left eye, it felt like i was looking out of a stained glass window

here is a visual:

my left eye looked exactly like this when looking out of it. I immediately went to the hospital and was told i have an ulcer on my cornea and its a medical emergency. I was given antibiotics and was referred to a specialist. today i went in to see the eye doctor and he told me my infection was pretty bad, even though cornea ulcers can happen to anyone, there are various types and mines was pretty ummm... “aggressive”

he explained to me that in order to save my eye he has to scrape my cornea and remove all the bad cells, then stick a needle in it to relieve pressure and apply antibiotics straight to the area of infection. If he didnt take this route, the chances of me regaining my vision was 0

YALL THAT SHIT HURT LIKE A BITCH!!!

so now im on 3 sets of antibiotics every two hrs (even thru sleep ?) and have a follow up appointment thurs

im not looking for well wishes. i just wanted to let you know that it is important to NOT sleep in your contacts.

Take your contacts out every 8 hrs because you are putting yourself at risk for developing a pretty nasty infection.

I know accidents happen but trust me, you dont want to lose your vision.

I hope I am able to see again fairly soon but if not, it is what it is.

Life is full of so many twist and turns. Be thankful for every moment and try to complain less about little things because it only takes one moment in time for your life to change drastically.

I love my life either way, impaired or not so even with one eye imma stil talk my shit (sorry fellas) :tuh:

and imma still enjoy everything this world has to offer as long as theres breath in my body

anyways peace and love and even if im a ”bitch” i still wouldnt want you to go thru this whatsoever

be blessed ❣

@Race Jones

i shit you not. this exact same thing happened to my cousin about 2 years ago. DUE TO SLEEPING IN HER CONTACTS. she almost lost her eye.

she didnt tho. had whatever surgery that was needed. she good now tho.

the family tore her a new asshole for sleeping in her contacts AND ALMOST losing sight in one eye.

again, she good now tho....

Wow hope things improve for you and return to normal. Never wore contacts myself but even the concept of them and watching people put them in etc always gave me willie's a bit.

Update: eye feels a lot better. have regained about 75% of my eyesight back. its still very blurry and i cant read anything when i close my right eye but hopefully it will be back to normal fairly soon. everything is healing well and the dr is pleased with how my eye currently looks.

i am now taking antibiotics every hr so im not out of the woods yet but ive come a long way

thanks for the well wishes and hope everyone is doing well and sticking to their glasses ;)
