Official 2019-2020 NBA Thread

Because it isn't. It's a continuation of their rookie season. It makes no sense to consider it anything other than what it actually is.
What’s the difference though when almost the same amount of time has passed from one season to the other? Haven’t done rookies spent most of their time getting better during the postponement by working out?

btw I know on a technical level it’s the same season but I mean on a developmental level

The difference is that they have not completed their rookie seasons. Some of these cats only have 8 games before their rookie season is over anyway.

I feel like that’s a lazy answer man. What’s the difference between a regular season that ends in April and comes back in oct

vs a shortened season with 60+ games and then rookies didn’t play from March until August?

in both instances rookies had a large amount of time off to work on their games and came back together with the rest of the team months later to play organized basketball again

also especially when this is done and the next season starting in dec

You can twist your brain into knots to try to justify considering the current rookie class as second year players. At the end of the day, they'll still be rookies. When next season starts in December, they will then be second year players. Just facts.

It's a redshirt sophomore year fam. Time away to work on game, study film, and longer time than usual off season.
