2020 NFL Offseason Thread

I like the move and I’m rooting for Cam. As a Panthers fan I’ve always liked Cam, even though I have been critical of his consistency and ability to remain healthy.

The consistency I think was a result of age and experience and can get better. His health is more of a question mark but he hasn’t suffered anything completely detrimental and irreparable. Pats could be getting pinnacle Cam if he stays healthy.

Panthers should have stuck it out with him for at least the remaining year of his contract. Healthy Cam and McCaffrey would have been a powerful combo.

People hyping the shit out of this move. Cam's washed. His body is broken. There's a reason the Panthers let him go.

This is the thing when people come with this approach and it maybe true..but you do not think BB did his research on Cam Newton first before signing him?

I think people are still optimistic about Cam's contribution as a runner like he's gonna be prime Cam again. But those days are looking done. The hits have already taken their toll and he's 31.

He's at the point where he needs to rely more on his arm than his athleticism, and that's not his strength.

Im sure he did. But also let's not act like Bill had a gang of good options. He has a weak QB room, and doesn't want to pay much. Cam got backup money. He probably made the best available move...I just don't think it'll be a very impactful one.

If Bill had a "weak QB room" or really thought he did, then why didn't he just draft a QB? He had the picks there. There were plenty QBs to pick from.

If he is healthy enough to just be good with that coach. That's impactful.

He had the picks to get who? The 4th/5th QB off the board? Not like he could have gotten the top guys. And he may not have wanted the guys still there for the next 4 years.

If he thought he had a strong QB room, he wouldn't have gone looking for a new starter.

it would be interesting if cam balls out with the same weapons brady struggled with
Not really Cams is younger, he is a dynamic qb and shit his whole career he has done it with less than aside from Steve Smith, Greg Olsen and Mc Caffery

its expected...no he has a good coach.... thats an understatement

Man... what? He threw for more yards than Cam ever has, with a higher completion % than Cam's career average, 24 TD 8 INT. That's struggling? Agreed it wasn't an impressive season by Brady standards... but those numbers are the bar for struggling now?
