COMMUNITY Social Justice Thread: R.I.P. George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor & now Tyre Nichols

I personally don't think Brees is a bigot, but I don't know him either so it's whatever.

I will say this though. When it comes to human rights issues like this, there is no middle ground. You're either a friend or a foe and only people who are on the side of justice are friends. If you're constantly waffling and failing to see the point, then you're a foe. Whether he's a good person or not, whether he actually likes black people or not, Drew's history when it comes to matters like this prove that he's a foe.

Attacking medics is considered a war crime under the Geneva Convention, but I guess we shouldn’t expect to be treated as well as foreign enemies

Murder is a crime but here we are.

You wouldn't go behind enemy lines for medical treatment in war. But ok.

Brees is from Austin iirc.

But has lived/played here for over what, 15 years?

He saw what Katrina did to Nola. He sees the homeless shit happening just a few hundred feet from the Superdome. He sees the poverty here. He sees the police shit happening here.

After all this time, what has he learned? But this is why for decades people tried to leave politics and the like out of sports. It gives some people an easy out to say they don't see the shit happening.

Now, Brees lives uptown Nola in a very affluent part, but you're never too far from the hood in Nola

Do I think he's racist? I don't but it's no excuse for his patriotic bullshit he been on the past couple of seasons.

He should've reached out to Demario Davis months ago to have a sit down with him about what's going on and how he can be an ally.

Drew Brees and those like him are who they are and truthfully couldn't really give a fuck less. Even his so call apology was fucked up and shows where his mind is really at and that he still doesn't and will never get it. His mindset never changing.

Have "they" tried to throw Stephen Jackson under the bus yet for The Malice in the Palace?

New Orleans is a perfect example of economic, political AND environmental racism within a city. Seeing the city turn on him in under 24 hours is eye opening.
