I never imagined how big of a deal the ceromony is to everyone else. There was a point where we just sat back at look at everyone enjoying themselves and said we did this. We brought this much joy to both of our families. When you take away the religion and all the other stuff that is involved and you look at it as a way to honor your family and your ancestors it takes on a different perspective. People really cried at my ceremony. ( not going to lie I was one if them) but the tears were of pure joy and happiness. Easily other than the day my son was born the best day of my life.Just read this. This is so good to hear. I've always been lukewarm on weddings and ceremonies because I saw them as rituals that didn't really have relevance to someone as non-religious as me. The familial side of it is appealing though.
I'm glad your family had a lovely day.
Ayo all these name changes are wack don't know who's who
I think I have mentioned that my mother in law died about a year and a half ago. She never had a true wedding ceremony. Everyone that attended and saw the pictures that knew her has said that her hand was in this ceremony. They said there was so much of her spirit involved that she was there. Now I am going to go a little deep but my wife's uncle started crying during the ceromony because he said he looked up and saw my mother in law and their mother staring down at the ceromony. Now we may or may not believe in that kind of stuff but it is what he said he saw. I personally do believe in it. So I believe the ancestors can watch what we are doing here and be proud of our actions. Just we can not always see them. The feelings I have given to this post are mine, by the way.
Can you elaborate on the honoring ancestors aspect?
I too. Because a lot of my recent decisions are past on my ancestors and my future(lil Dread)I believe ancestors can be proud of our actions. at least, I hope so.

I always thought u were canadian lol
@SuperiorPosterior well? lets see dat ass then
Lol, guess my VPN works!
But the funny thing is, I was in Canada!
I think I have shared on here before we hooked a family cruise in Alaska from September 4th to 11th from Seward Alaska to Vancouver Canada.
We left on August 30th and at the time we had no idea that a hurricane was coming. We spent a few glorious days in Denali and Kenai Fjords before boarding the the beautiful Norwegian Sun cruise ship on the 4th. By that time we knew about Irma but not sure if it would hit home.
The cruise was all we could have hoped for and more, Alaska mountains and glaciers are nothing short of miraculous.
However when we ported in Vancouver a week later we knew for sure our hometown was affected and all airports close to home were closed. Our original plan was to fly back home red eye on the night of the 11th (sep 11th no less!) and 12th but it was not meant to be. Air Canada and enterprise Canada car rental were extremely understanding and helpfully with our travel rearrangement. After a few hours of phone calls curtesy of Vancouver airport (we had no Canadian phone plan) we came up with an arrangement where we only spent a total of $110 Canadian dollars (about $90 USD) to stayed in a cute and cozy little B&B for 3 nights, with a free rental car and free flights change. We spent 3 days exploring the beautiful Canadian Rockies before flying back home last night arriving home this morning.
Anyway, my family and I are all finally home, safe and sound. No damages to any properties as far as we can see, except we will have to throw away everything in the fridge because we were told electricity was lost for 5 days straight.
The Alaska cruise trip worked out marvelously as an unintended evacuation. Praise God, and the goodness of Canadian people.
