So on Ghost Of Soulja Slim, when JE says I want it, you got it. That comes from a classic song from 95 when Slim at the time was going by Magnolia Slim before No Limit.

He did a part 2 with Mia X.

I respect the hell outta that dude for even titling a song like that. You bring up this album you gotta talk about this track.

Jay E might really be "lazy" though. Lazy is a strong word so maybe it takes a lot for him to be inspired.

For all we know he may not have made the album if Jay wasn't on it and that's kinda what it looks like.

"In the wee hours of the night trying to squeeze out bars"

It's possible that whenever he feels inspired to write and whatever he comes up with, that's it. Seems like Jay came in and fleshed out the tracks to make a whole album.
had a homeboy....

the only reason we not on right now is because his talent spoiled him into thinking he don't have to work hard....he felt just cuz he was nice shit would happen for him regardless of the dumb shit he did

like our friendship actually suffered cuz i couldn't get that nigga to do basic shit to help push his own rap career froward.....

like on stage.....in the studio.....the nigga was a monster....

in anything else lazy as fuck....

would't sell tickets for his own show...wouldn't even tell people about them....actually getting him to the studio took divine intervention.....getting him to his own shows....i had to essentially baby sit him the entire day and drive him to the shit, or he would be caught up in other shit.... nigga never got any merch out...like ever....cd's printed....never.....i would get quotes on prices, agree to put up half....and the nigga would never come up with the other half....

the shit that ended it though.....we had a big ass show....so i went the full amount on some fucking flyers cuz i really wanted him to do this show.....i even got some cd's printed up it was only like 25.... but it took a lot for the covers.... he was supposed to pick up some shirts he swore he got done....

was on the phone with this nigga all day....told him what time to meet me at the spot,,,,,get there.....nigga stop answering his phone...

this nigga go on stage at like 9:15.. it's past 8:30 nobody heard from him since like before 8 when he said he was on his way...

blew his phone up, blew everybody i could think of phone up.....nigga walking out the parking lot like 930......talking bout he wsa right here in the parking lot....fucking some chick....and missed his whole set.....talking bout he been here like a hour, he ain't answer the phone cuz he was right there...

i just went home.....i heard they still let him perform later in the show, but i was done..... nigga drive jsut wasn't there, and i took the shit too seriously for him to be fucking around like that....shit crazy, cuz i still think he coulda got on.....when meek first blew up my phone used to ring almost daily of niggaz saying meek had that energy charlie used to have on the mic and stage...nigga used to go off

shiny suit theory needs to be a single with a video and on the radio.....

Snap on the track like the finger of Thanos? Woah...

You gotta relax

ok at the end of the album. jayz rapped his ass off!!! that shit had me hype as fuck but sadly, its a one time listen for me. it sounds horrible during certain parts of the album. was it mastered? or was that intentional? anywho I was expecting some just Blaze, Large professor, fuck it Swizz beats sounds, this album is boring as hell.

and the fact jay carried the entire album? lmaoo gosh o‘mighty

2.5 / 5

jay electronica is crisp as fuck... the bars, the wisdom, the knowledge, the flow.....like i don't wanna be too high on him, but he kinda sounds how i always imagined a 35+ biggie would rap.....could be a reach, but i love that effortless sounding flow that delivers so much substance in each line....

with that said.....jay-z is rapping his absolute best on this album....like even sharper than he was on 4:44

i think it's tha competitive spirit in Jay, he must of heard electronica on these beats, and just wanted to get on them himself....

kinda a dick move... but as a fan the shit sounds marvelous.....and while it's a weird knock, my only knock that jay was featured so much it feels more like a jay album featuring jay electronica....

but it didn't hurt the album imo......just kinda tainted the long awaited "debut" if that makes sense...

still great addition to 2020's music

2020 already better than 2019
I would think Jay Elect drops another full album in a few months. The only way this first debut makes any sense.
