Netflix Who Killed Malcolm X?

Jokes aside though the brotha from the documentary mentioned putting in an appeal for Norman 3x Butler(Muhammad Aziz) by way of the Conviction Integrity Unity that re-examines old cases and "if possible, exonerates those who were wrongfully convicted".

They said as much in the doc that he was going to file the paperwork on behalf of Norman 3x Butler(Muhammad Aziz). I figured the case being reopened/reviewed had something to do with that

The NOI was on some record company shit when it came to his house.

It was never his for 12 years. What kind of shit is that

Were these the tapes that Malcolm attempted to send to Elijah while still in the Nation? When everyone around Elijah was preventing Malcolm from talking/speaking or trying to sort things out with Elijah? As mentioned in the documentary?

--edit--

Sidenote: I always wondered if Wallace Fard Muhammad aka Master WD Fard was white or not...
That one widespread picture of WDF is a portrait, not a photo so I can only assume that he was a light skinned black man who just wore his hair a certain way. I truly don't believe anyone but a black man would be so bold as to teach the things he did, especially at the time he did. Plus WDF had been locked up a couple times so yeah... whether or not his mother was Arabian, the man was black.

As for the tape, i think it points to the difference between the NOI under Elijah Muhammad versus the NOI under Farrakhan. I never could get into Elijah as a speaker/teacher because he seemed so closed off and sheltered versus Malcolm, Farrakhan, Khalid, etc who are more accessible and respond more openly. I think Elijah surrounded himself with people who would would not only protect him, but shield him from anything they didn't want him to hear, including Malcolm's appeals. We see that shit alot with powerful men who end up with a thick wall between themselves and the people who need to speak with them the most.

Damn...just finished the series. Had no expectation that dude would 100% solve the case but he did. Crazy that dude is still alive and been walking around untouched all these years.

I felt like that was already happening

FBI had Muhammad wire tapped and found out about his infidelity.

FBI starts sending out anonymous letters leaking everything they know.

Words makes its way to Malcolm, he loses faith in his leader and mentor, starts telling others in the Nation about it so they can prepare themselves to respond if it goes public.

Word makes it back to Muhammad that Malcolm is saying these things about him.

Muhammad loses trust in Malcolm and starts to see him as the enemy.

And it snowballs from there until Malcolm is killed, and the threat of a black messiah is effectively eliminated.

Puppet masters was on they shit.

Regardless of age Elijahs whole shit was about abstaining unless she’s your wife, so he was a hypocrite either way.

That’s why X lost faith in him.

That and finding out that Elijah was bashing him behind his back.

I can't remember the link, but I remember sharing it with a few cats online about the dude who did it, tha Dirty Jersey Bastard. The link even had a YouTube video attached. You could see this guy mix into the gathering crowd on the street one min, then attacking the other Assassins who were in custody by the Police the next min. Very surreal footage.

that footage is in this doc

One day we gon have a real conversation about Elijah Muhammad. An excellent judge of leadership... Malcolm, Farrakhan, etc. But the man was not divinely right about everything.

If we can point to where everybody else fucked up throughout history, we can do the same with Elijah.

And Farrakhan declaring him as the modern day "Jesus and Messiah" don't change history. I think at one point the NOI operated like a large scale gang just without the drugs and fighting over street blocks

I've read numerious stories that they pushed their members to sell as many Muhammad Speak newspapers and if they didn't they'd catch a beatdown.

Just knocked this out while the city's basically in a lockdown. A great watch. I only knew some of the basics so I learned a lot with this doc. Surprised Farrakhan's name never came up. It was funny to watch Booker squirm when they brought up that Bradley was Malcolm's killer. He lost his composure for a bit

jus binged this....

i didnt watch this at 1st cause i figured i already knew everything n didnt wanna get pissed.

but gat damn i learned ALOT. as ppl stated in this thread, if you looked, alot of these details been on youtube for years. but i gotta give the guy behind the doc alotta respect. dude spend 30 plus years workin on this. shit was heavy af.

i find it very interesting tho that as malcolm walked out of the courthouse, dealing the matter about the house. Is when he revealed elijah had all those kids, clearly he was pissed. malcolm wanted payback. so he publicly outted elijah.

its wild AF that william bradley walked right by in the footage when thomas hagan was being arrested. wow. talk about hidin in plain sight. dude jus strolled by.

and WTF the FBI/NYC cops had nine undercovers in the ballroom. NINE!!! holy shit. i assumed 1 or 2, but 9?! even the body guard by the stage was a cop.

the fact that the fbi, let 2 innocent men go to jail and had all this inside info. they 4 sure know alot more about the case.

im not all that surprised william bradley was hiding in plain site in NJ. shit like that does happen. but it was basically a open secret in the community. but its interesting tho, that when the dude who made the doc asked the guy "what are we gonna do about Al-Mustafa Shabazz?" and the dude said "leave that alone. if he is here, ppl kno and he is prolly protected, leave that alone." whoa WTF?

homie actually pulled up to the funeral tho. wtf. i thought to myself, i hope this nigga dont make a scene. i could see him jumpin outta his car n being like "WTF are u niggas doing? are u niggas crazy? dont yall niggas know that nigga killed malcolm x?! WTF" but he didnt lol

i kinda was uneasy when he approached the Lt governor tho. she was kinda jus doin her civic duty by attending the funeral. he was well know in the community, but she was aware of the rumors tho.

overall the doc was good af. much better than i thought it would be. respect to the dude who made it. he dedicated his life to this.... and the FBI's hands are dirty af.
