......."Mr. Hip Hop knowledge" everybody

Don't forget Steady B and Cool C's robbin' and stealin' asses......

OH! And of course Schooly D, the Originator of Gangsta Rap, and I say this as a L.A. native.
Vet, Philly legend, legendary group.

Black Thought alone however? If you ask anybody about Black Thought outside the Eastest of East coast the response would be, “who”?

You can’t be a legend if you the average hip hop fan can’t spit a Black Thought verse.

The avg Hip-Hop Fan has the WOAT taste & opinions in music, so take that with a grain of salt.

This dude said he doesn't want to listen to Hip-Hop that makes him agitated or depressed, but prefers listening to DMX and Kid Cudi.

Sir, your Hip-Hop Opinions are completely irrelevant from here on out.

@Starbucks

Maaaaaan, that jawnt with Big Pun is one of the most SLEPT-ON tracks EVER.

DMX and Kid Cudi rap and sing about struggles, pain, life issues but deliver the message and content in a catchy, melodic, engaging, entertaining way that's the beauty of their music that they have deep subject mater but it's catchy at the same time. They not lyrical either so the message they deliver simple easy to decipher as well

That's the beauty @Lab Baby @5thLetter @Ghostface

It's like eating Nandos chicken that's healthy

Where as rappers like Black Thought deliver their message in an utterly boring, bland, mechanical, forced, corny, dark way. Plus he's technically lyrical

Plus DMX and Kid Cudi are hook masters while a Black Thought or a Jay Z or a Masta Ace or an AZ or a Common or a Beanie Sigel or a Big Pun can't do a hook to save their life

Yooooo this entire THREAD was pure comedy, if you haven't noticed from my reactions. I'm glad it didn't get locked.

@Starbucks, have you actually heard DMX sing?

:hahaha:

And, in regards to your claim of "deep subject matter", on "Indicud", didn't Kid Cudi have a Stalker anthem on that bytch?

And that 1st single when that nigga was rappin' about getting high and feelin' lonely........

I was diggity-DONE with his Emo bullshit. Dude is a fuckin' mope. I don't got time to listen to Shoegazer Rap by Hipster Black Trash.

You can't be serious with this argument, but I'm afraid you are.

:foh5:

And it's strange that someone brought up Yaasin Bey aka Mos Def and Common (@ChicagoFigure) into the conversation, because almost a decade ago a Bedroom Wizard by the name of Ayentee created a project called "Mos Common Thought" where he mashed up all 3 of these emcees lyrics from various songs over his production. Pretty solid project, I might wanna listen to it again. Here's a YouTube link to one of the tracks:

For a min I thought this was @deadeye!

:lol9:

Dude, are you SERIOUS!!?!???!!?

Perfect example:

On "Do You Want More!!?!!???!??", they incorporated a Bagpipe on the title track (yeah yeah, House Of Pain did the same with "Jump Around", but they were Irish-American and it was a sample, The Roots used a real Bagpipe.)

On "? vs. Rahzel", they had an actual Beatbox Specialist battle the group's Drummer/Bandleader.

On the final track of the album, they brought in a Spoken Word artist, Ms. Ursula Rucker, to recite some venomous ether to all the misogynistic subject matter in Hip-Hop at that time, ending the song with her reclaiming Womanhood and demanding some RESPECK whilst cocking a pistola.

I'm beginning to either think you're trolling or deserving of the award of Worst. Poster. Ever.

And I'm saying this will all due respect.
Post the music I ain’t reading this shit
