Hmm then I would say the movie was maybe a way to relieve some guilt, maybe prep himself for the inevitable, soften the blow, maybe it was one of our twisted ways that we use 'secret tests' on each other... she should ask him and then let us know why he did it.

I've done it. We had broken up and gotten back together on some start from scratch shit. Went on a starting from scratch first date. Realized midway she was just a wack individual and no matter how much I tried to make it work for her that it just wasn't going to work for me. It just wasn't realistic at that point that it was going anywhere longterm. I didn't like her enough to be bothered putting myself through all the motions just for the sake of being in a relationship. So I paid the bill told her the shit was a dub and better to stop fooling ourselves. It just happened to hit me on the date. Wasn't wasting another second of my time.

I've done this before, I didnt have intentions on it at the start. The date just at every turn, no matter how much I tried to ignore it. She gave me every reason as to why I didnt want to be with her anymore. Looking back I can see why it coulda looked crazy, but that's how that shit can happen.
