Listening to the Book Of Basketball and Bill Simmons talk to Steve Nash about the Suns/Spurs game 4

Its funny thinking about it now but Nash said Dantoni always told him that he regretted not going even smaller, shooting more 3s and playing faster

i mean, its not like he was a unanimous vote...he a fill in

i honestly dont know who else could've been in the spot

but my point is, its not like he getting the nod just b/c he not from here

dude is a 28 yr old rookie and its taken a while for him to get acclimated to the NBA and he has been playing the best basketball of his short career lately on both sides of the court.

Cool but there are other players that could be added if not for this format

i gave a reason why he wasnt the worst fill in they could've gone with

Yeah but I never said that he was the worst fill just that he didn’t deserve it over other guys

And correction please don’t make me talk about nicolo melli this long
 
I agree the US vs. World format is trash. Just pick the best young players.

We dont have to push the NBA being international anymore. Giannis, and Jokic, Luka, Embiid, KP, Siakim and a bunch of other players are gonna do that on a day to day basis going forward.

Either way I aint watching it. Just saying.

But to do what? They didn't have the personnel to defend. During their run they were middle of the pack defensively.

So you speed up the game and take more 3s and go smaller to score a little bit more but become worse defensively? I don't get it
