That's 'cause y'all new niggas drank the kool aid on that shit-tier bullshit double/triple lossy compressed bluetooth audio. Just being able to hear noise that vaguely resembles music is enough for y'all (hence the reliance on shitty ass soundbars).

It’s 2020 outchea fam.

Idk if you heard but MQA ( Masters on Tidal) >>>> CD quality

See that old ass DVD player sitting on top of my VCR??? I have it for a couple of reasons, one of which is because I can play raw, uncompressed WAV files up to 24 bit resolution on it, meaning that I can take music I've mastered myself, straight from my recording gear, and play it without dropping down to 16 bit for CD quality, or without running it through lossy compression (which MQA still is). MQA is designed to be better sounding for streaming (and the quality still gets degraded the moment you run it through bluetooth), but I don't stream shit therefore it's meaningless to me. I prefer to own the music I listen to.

Check out the cd quality vs MQA comparison videos on YT, MQA>>>>>>

24bit uncompressed audio >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything.

Plus, all of that goes out the window once you add bluetooth into the mix. Bluetooth audio is run through another round of lossy compression which further degrades the audio signal.

Also... MQA has a looooot of money behind it because every single step in the process of encoding and playback means a payment to the record labels. I honestly wouldn't take those reviews at face value unless you can verify that they're 100% independent with zero money coming in from the recording industry.

lol don't worry, you're not the only one. The other "audiophiles" seem to be pissed about it too

If you read the article I posted from Linn, then re-watch the video you'll get more insight into the discussion. It's not really about whether or not MQA sounds good, it's about money. MQA is being propped up by the labels because they get all of the licensing money from the technology. That's what the first cat was alluding to but he's basically saying ignore the licensing and all of that and just listen to how good it sounds.

Damn I'd hate to be that particular over my snairs

I'm a musician and engineer, plus I grew up listening to vinyl on rather good speakers. Shit matters to me.

There's tons of comparison videos out there. Idc about the business side of it, i'm just talking about the quality of sound and it's superior to cd quality.

Yo Lurk, I mean AP, you're more than welcome to join in.

And I'll correct my statement, cd quality and mqa is essentially the same quality, idc to debate on which is better. The fact remains, technology has made it to where you can now stream music at the same audio quality that you would get from a physical album and the audiophiles are tight about it cuz now their vinyls and old dusty ass cd players are becoming obsolete.

eh, I wouldn't say all that. It's still a known fact that vinyl is still superior to CD and always has been, so if MQA is about the same as CD, it's still inferior to vinyl.

Besides, everything still ain't available on streaming platforms and some never will.

And that's fine fam. But the fact that there's now streaming quality available that is arguably better/just as good as cd quality is all i need to know. You can stream music from your phone at the same quality as the niggas who spend thousands of dollars for equipment and stacks of cds.

And the MQA library is growing everyday fam

M= MQA

it was just a jab...nothing major which is why i chose not to say anything initially
