Who would’ve thought, BET of all channels would be making major moves in 2017. I’m not saying BET was never a prominent television channel, but I think we can all agree that BET has been an abomination for over a decade, its been nothing but terrible premises for original shows and Sanford and Son reruns. But now it seems they’re turning over a new leaf, with the recent success of their New Edition biopic and now a biopic on none of than Nas, who most consider to be the greatest rapper alive or to ever live.
The biopic will be executive produced by Nas himself and will be named Street Dreams, named after the classic single from his sophomore album It Was Written. The piece will following a young Nas as he evolves from the young drug dealing kid from Queensbridge New York to being a superstar musician. Bet just set records with their New Edition Biopic, so hopefully this one will repeat that success.
