Dear Mama is (one of) the best written song from a songwriter's perspective.

But If I Ruled The World is the best written song from a lyricist's perspective.

And there's a difference between a songwriter vs a lyricist. A songwriter writes so the masses of people can understand it. A lyricist writes with literary techniques such as metaphors, similes, hyperbole, double entendres, and alliteration so you have to dissect the lyrics to figure out what it means.

Wit’ that bein’ said this is possibly #1a...tha beat...tha flow...tha vibe...smh...my deep love of hip hop was taking form during this era and tha time this song came out and this song NEVER gets skipped it....
