You only have 40 minutes. . .

My opinions on why many popular boxing opinions are completely trash.

It's a few that really get under people's skin too.

I have a boxing question for you Du

Being that boxing seems to attract people with the personality of over coming difficulty, discipline, technique, precision, determination, and a reward system of accomplishment over seemingly difficult challenges.

Why has Tysons style of boxing been barely imitated or taking on by skilled boxers, who mostly more often than not, master even more complex styles of fighting?

Perseverance.

Like look at anything that takes a ridiculous amount of skill, athleticism and pure talent....

How long can any human being consistently maintain that over a real period of time? They're going to burn out.

Tyson's style was not sustainable. He hit his peak at age 21. He MIGHT'VE had a few more years in him.... But by 21 he was already talking about retiring. I'm not even joking, his greatest performance was against Michael Spinks.

You take that Mike from that night and place him in the ring with any other heavyweight in boxing history on any night you choose... I'm picking Mike.

After that fight, Mike fired his entire corner and started partying and training less
He was burned out.. It was simply too much. It would have been crazy to continue to train and perform at that pace.....I just don't think the body can take it.

In comparison, Mike and Lennox are the same age. When Mike beat Spinks, Lennox was still an amateur.

Lennox has t a perfectly normal career, he was also a freak of nature... Just in his own way...

But Mike, that shit was beyond normal, the reason he was so popular was because no one ever saw anything like that, and experts know we never will.

So to answer your question.... to train a teenager to perform like Mike did by age 21 takes way to much effort, work, and just genetics to ever replicate.

You'll get a lotta guys who use the peek A boo style... But never with that level of quickness, strength and precise muscle memory. It just isn't possible. Mike shouldn't have been possible, that's what makes him still ranked amongst the greatest despite his losses and his decline after that night.... Everyone who knew what they were looking at knew that we'd never see that shit again. V

So, what would be the downfalls technique wise to pursuing this style with less quickness and stamina other than tiring out? What does it open you up to, punch wise?

You need the hand and body speed. It doesn't work without the speed, because you're essentially bullfighting with cars. You're still right in the danger zone moving your head and body waiting for the opening and taking it in like the blink of an eye.

The focus required is crazy. If you don't have that speed, the stamina to keep moving, or even the conviction to pull the trigger at the right moment... You're going to drop a lotta rounds because you're just not going to see the openings if you're not fast enough. Also you're prolly going to get clipped a lot
