It’s safe to say that Yo Gotti is having a bad day. On Tuesday, the “Put a Date On It” rapper lost a $2.2 million lawsuit after making a false promise to deliver a verse. TMZ reported Gotti received $20K from Young Fletcher for a verse back in 2016 but refused to release the song. Instead, he recorded a song similar to Fletcher’s. That was the first of this complicated matter. Then, the Memphis rapper attempted to sign Young Fletcher behind his manager’s back for $150,000. Talk about messy.

He was served last year, while performing, but decided to completely ignore the suit. While in court, he was issued a $2.2 million judgment by the judge. The original judgment was immediately tripled due to, “willful, unfair, and deceptive acts.” Yo Gotti now has to pay $6.6M.

Im not a super street nigga but i never understand trying to apply street shit to non street situations. You cant just debo niggas when you signed a legal contract with lawyers.

Niggas do this at jobs too be complaining about fake managers and shit when they get fired ir in trouble. Like nigga we grown these people got kids an shit. That street shit dont apply.

The silliest shit Gotti did was try to double back and sign that cat to a deal for 150K. Tried the Fletcher dude for a Sucka and he didn't bite. That verifies (to me) that he's done/attempted that before. Hell he tried to sign Dolph back in the day when his steam start picking up in Memphis.

Not to mention he's signed ever other rapper that had a buzz in M-Town from Snootie Wild, Blac Youngsta and Moneybagg. And I'm pretty sure they signed some bullshit ass deal, but @ least they get good show money (Gotti hands prolly in that too). I believe he does this to stymie his (city's) competition, get song ideas/creativity all the while being in their pockets

I phux w/ Gotti's music, but his character/tactics always has seemed a bit off to me.

Triple Six did do that to artist to a degree.

The thing is, Gotti signed to Kia Shine first and then when that situation didn't work out he came runnin' to Paul and Juice when they had initially tried to signed him. They told him hell nah.... Gotti has signed like about 3 deals before gettin' on.
