They need to just have 32 teams all affiliated with a nfl team. NFL Practice squad guys can go down & play in spring for game reps as well as other guys they want in they’re pipelines

Arena Football kinda was like this tho they never were affiliated with the NFL. They’re supposed to come back next year too.

Imo this merger is a step in that direction.

This new league now has 16 teams.

If left as is…the NFL can assign two teams to each one of these teams…

I do fully expect this new league to become an official developmental league for the NFL

I think they started with 8 because the 3 of the 4 teams that the USFL have are the hub cities that all the games were played in. Remember the XFL teams had their own stadiums

NBC won't broadcast USFL, XFL games due to golf commitments

NBC has told the USFL and XFL that it won't be able to broadcast games in their 2024 season due to golf event commitments.

Per Ourand, that means the new league will split its broadcasts amongst ESPN, ABC, Fox, and FS1. XFL games were previously broadcast specifically with ESPN’s family of networks.
