WTF Europe? France lowers age of consent to 15

What’s strange to us might be okay in other places

I can see how 15 year olds can consent to sex

Lower the consent so that those who already violate get a jail pass, its too easy to protect the evil-minded

Yeah it should go without saying but education is key.

It also needs to be stated that the Dutch society is fundamentally different compared to its American counterpart: religion isn't prominent in all aspects - from schools to politics, a politician saying God bless The Netherlands or even mentioning God would be frowned upon - so the youth has less dogmas around them and public schools are held in high regard due to the way the school systems are set up...despite the US - or maybe its the reason why - its massive porn industry, the Americans are more prude than the Dutch.

Age of concent has been 16 here in Holland since I was born but that shit is for the 16 year olds/teenagers themselves, so they can legally get protection and shit. Loads of sex education and government campaigns directed at the youth to fight sexual diseases and shit.

So make no mistake, an adult having a relationship with a 16 year old does not fly here.

i imagine this goes for most of Europe.

mid you’ve left school and you’re dating 16 year olds you’re a nonce.

But America treats sex as a taboo topic likely because the heavy religion/politics mix, which ironically leads to then fucking at younger ages and having fucked up views of sex.
 
Even if it became legal here, I couldn’t allow myself to be sexually attracted to a 15 year old.

But, that’s just me.
