Why Has The Family Unit Been Destroyed?

selfishness and just the times really

there's no value in it to a lot of people now

most kids are a "oops" and committing to somebody is like bitching out on life lol

to be honest i cant blame people....a lot of us watched our parents stay broke and unhappy or just put up with bullshit for years and years and end up resentful and depressed

so at first sight of a problem mf's are like"nope....cant do it"

1) The Justice system has locked up many men and taken them away from their families
2) Inner City crime has also claimed many male victims ..see #1 (the "perp" gets thrown in jail) that's two for one...
3) Tekevision : no need to explain
4) Side Pussy
5)Intragender Relations

The destruction the media has portrayed has taken away our father figure known as Dr.Huxtable away from us diminishing his legacy (to a degree) he was the ultimate father figure and they are pressed to show you he wasn't and to never emulate his practices.

Solely my opinion

lol I appreciate the reasonablity but I watch too much damn YT and I don't believe that he did anything but smash. 60 woman come out the woodwork they decide to let him enjoy fame and fortune until he's 80 or so and then take it away. That's pointless. If they knew Bill was a "rapist" back in the 70s n 80s they would have gotten him at the height of his career not near the end of his lifespan. Word in Hollywood spreads and no one died yet he's the worse person out here?!

Charlie Sheen been fuckin with HIV and he ain't get nothing but a hand slap and his role on his show pulled but his reruns still reign.

There's a reason why he's being ridiculed. That man was about to hurdle Opera. You think they want a black man on top..naaaa

S/N R Kelly won't ever go to jail for what he does.

Capitalism has produced a cultureless, valueless, history devoid population of easily persuaded heathens who no longer appreciate the family unit

The single parenthood rate among black families has been studied quite a bit. The leading theory starts with the institution of public welfare in the late 60s. To recieve a cash payment there could be no father listed in the home. Any man caught living in the home would put the cash payment at risk of being cut off. This made the man's position as a head of the household "unnecessary". Of course all programs have loopholes. A woman could simply put "father unknown" on the birth certificate and if anyone turned her in or she got questioned about a man in her house all she had to do was say well he's not the kids father. We know how that type of thing turned out. It went on for generations. Take the check section8, take the check section 8, until at point it became the norm. Welfare is pretty finished now and things are slowly reversing. At one time back in the 50's there were actually more black marriages than white marriages (by percentage).

And...Bill Cosby is innocent. He got railroaded.

This is a factor but another reason is irresponsibility from by the parents, if y’all are engaging in unprotected sex then at least use protection or birth control, or even pull out lol. They have kids at a young age and 9/10 times they’re not going to stay together. Rinse and repeat.

Lol according to some posters it just happens like that ....u don’t need to take ur time to find the perfect mate to procreate with

Don't get me started on birth control, I'll go all day. I'm on the board of my local Planned Parenthood. The sexual revolution of the early 60s brought about the widespread availability of the birth control pill Roe v Wade etc etc. Reasons for not using birth control range from distrust of medical establishment to lack of availability and social stigma. The black church at that time had almost exclusive power over all black communities. The church shunned birth control. Sexual freedom with no precautions means babies. When a young girls mother, grandmother and in too many cases great-grandmothers never used doctor prescribed birth control that young woman probably won't either. The story writes itself after that.

I’m talking about what they/we can control. Going to the pharmacy/gas station etc to get condoms even plan B etc.

The destruction of the family unit is grossly overstated

The extended family unit is another thing
