Why do you choose the rating system you choose?

I'll see 10 people in a row rate something on a scale from 1-5, then here comes 4 people using a scale from 1-10.

Why do you use the scale you use?

I personally use 1-5. 2.5 is the middle so that means it's not good or great but it doesn't suck. Anything above that is getting into good/great territory. Anything below that means it's butt.

What's the difference between a 7.5 and 3.5?

I use 1-10 because it gives more room for an accurate rating imo

A 3/5 is the equivalent to a 6/10

for me personally if an Album is a 6/10 itā€™s borderline unlistenable

How much more accurate do you need to be though?

At first I was thinking maybe if the project 20+ songs, maybe a 1-10 scale is needed to do what you just described but if you don't know if you fucking with over half the songs or not to be able to rate it on a 1-5 then to me, you're using a ten point scale to add qualifiers to the shit to come up with your rating

I like to use a 1-10 system because it gives a bit more leeway, but I think a 3.5 on a 1-5 scale is pretty much the same as a 7.5 on a 1-10 scale.

Well if youā€™re rating something shouldnā€™t you be as accurate as possible? Itā€™s seems this boils down to preference. Thereā€™s more room for your scale/score going 1-10

thereā€™s a clear difference between 5/10 and 2.5 when rating albums as far as the explanation imo

Also perception. nobody is going to want to listen to a 5/10 album. They might for a 2.5/5 Album even though itā€™s the same thing

if you wanna be as accurate as possible, why not use a scale to 100?

like I said, most of yall give shit ratings & should stop

jus say whether you like the music or not

tryna judge on a point scale like you got sum kinda credentials other than being a fan

:hahaha:

but I digress

1-10 is the standard scale imo. I have never heard anyone rating a woman a 4 unless she was tore up and really a 4. We all want dimes not nickels.

Music usually 1-5

Movies 1-10

Music cuz that's just what I've seen thru the years and it stuck.

Honestly don't know why I do 1-10 for movies. Seeing as what I've seen over the years has also been a 1-4/5 scale.
