I do but I don't think you're taking the time to level your comparisons. What is the point of comparing 2 people that can't be compared?
If I'm still misunderstanding then please explain.
cool
with this particular matchup, it was about guys who are relatively known in black america, but not necessarily white america.
I mean, SOME white people might be more familiar with Keith David, but i still wouldnt put him as an A list hollywood actor. You probably could make the argument that Powell might be more of a C list actor, but i could be swayed that he's a B, but on the lower tier.
Anyway, so, both of them are relatively known right, and with this one, both of them have a comparable body of work as far as number of films both notable and straight to dvd.
So, then it comes down to, which actor's career would you rather have? While Powell , for a good bit of his career was probably "thug no. 2" in the credits, his ability to bring life into those characters makes his roles unique in that sense b/c he's not a generic thug no. 2. He actually has some depth that make his roles memorable. Just two offf the top of my head, Chauncey from Menace and Pinky from Next Friday.
With Keith David, again, a buncha credits, but do you like him more for his movie roles or his voice work? Two off the top of my head, Gargoyles and Spawn.
this was kinda the thought process
would love to hear your thoughts
