Just curious on y'all opinions. I know this board tends to lean on a older opinion but I don't want to judge y'all opinions. What y'all look for in a massive rap star? When Kendrick, Cole, and Drake retires who do y'all think can carry this shit?

This video was a interesting breakdown about failed attempts at people trying to push rappers to be that and predictions for who can carry the mantle.

Also what do you consider devolve of hip hop genre? Is it the artists or the system in place?

Doechii has a chance. Playboi Carti? Maybe but he’s been around for a few years now, Baby Keem? I don’t see it, I don’t see people checking for him like that but I could be wrong. Saba been out almost 10 years I don’t see it. JID? Maybe. But I feel like it would’ve happened already.

This is actually a fair take bro. I think Carti if he stop bullshtitting is poise for taking claim but alot of hip hop media won't like it. I can see it being similar to Kanye and his polo shit and people thinking the shit wack and not hip hop but them weird stand out rappers be the ones that interesting to the masses. I think Carti at most will be a punk/alternative artist though.

Doechii has the best default chance though. She and people like JID legit has a passion for it.

I would have said Pop Smoke if he didn't get killed smh
