Kendrick Lamar. GKMC dropped at the end of 2012 but it carried over into this year. Poetic Justice, Problems, Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe, Pusha T collaboration etc.
 
This was really the year that Kendrick and GKMC was felt, but since 2012 was wrongly given to Kendrick & I don’t believe it’s fair for him to be credited for two years.....I’m gonna go with Drake for 2013.

Everybody was using “Started from the bottom” in common conversations and phrases, plus it was the year that I feel Drake dropped his first classic and best album....

Let's be real and cut the shit, Drake been running the rap scene when Kanye took a break to do fashion (post MBDTF and Watch The Throne).

So basically after Take Care and leading up to Nothing Was The Same, he had his foot on the pedal and still does.
