Em easy.

Em killed the early 2000's

Nigga said 50 destroyed NY hip hop,

Naw Em cornered the market and made it mainstream enough for corporate plugs to infiltrate the industry at a large scale....

No diss to em... He was spitting in 2002.

Lose yourself was one of the craziest tracks ever

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti

White nigga was a fucking phenom

This was possibly EMs last year before he started to fall off

It was also his best year
Thankfully this is the last year of relevance for that fuck boy.

Em was cleaning up though for real

Jay Z dropped Blueprint 2 AND Best Of Both Worlds with R Kelly. Jay was still on fire and deserves a look as the GOAT for this year.

With the Eminem Show and 8 Mile movie dropping, Marshall Mathers was EVERYWHERE and had everyone talking about him.

I also want to point out that Scarface was still on a multi-album tear (was overshadowed the previous few years by DMX, Jay, No Limit). He released The Fix this particular year and Face definitely deserves a look for this year, but unfortunately, he again was overshadowed in this year as well.

In my opinion, Jay Z and Eminem share the GOAT for this year, but I guess I can only pick one.

When options to vote are laid out, I will make that tough decision and choose just one.

remember renegade was 2001

em just spit what we thought was one if his best verses on renegade... then he followed up with 2002....

2002 is when em officially became universally recognized as one of the best in the game

benzino was furious

Stillmatic came out in Dec 01

Lost Tapes and God'Son came out in 02.

Thats three 5 mic classics in the span of 12 months

Eminem might have sold more and got media attention but his most critically acclaimed material has zero replay value.
