Which Individual Year Could Produce The Best 79 Minute Mixtape?

5 Grand

Old School Godfather
A CD holds 79 minutes.

If you were going to make a CD from any year, which year would you pick?

Personally I remember 1984. That was a great year. You had Run DMC, Whodini, Fat Boys, Kurtis Blow and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 releasing albums. You could fill up a CD of music from 1984 with heat.

But there were probably 3X as many dope albums in 1988

And then 1994 and 1995 were incredible.

1998 was an incredible year too.

2001 produced The Blueprint and Stillmatic along with other classics.

But if you only had 1 blank CD and you could only pick music from 1 year, which year would you pick?

This seems like a veiled version of another "which year was the best in Hip Hop" thread, but I'll bite. I'd say 96 easy. Here is just a sample of the albums that dropped in 96

ATLiens
Ironman
It Was Written
Reasonable Doubt
The Score
Nocturnal
Beat, Rhymes, & Life
Hell on Earth
All Eyez on Me
Illadelph Halflife
At the Speed of Life
Ridin' Dirty
Muddy Waters
Legal Drug Money

My CD would be full off just taking a couple songs from each of those albums and there are actually a lot of other good albums I didn't even mention.
