What's The Difference Between A Rapper & MC?

Rappers are about the paper(aka mainstream, pop markets)
MC's are about the artform

Doesn't mean one can't be both

What if I said that niggaz like tha Migos and Future and all tha “Lil’s” and people in that vein were tha MC’s because they make “party/dance” music that really just “enhance” tha beat like tha Masters of Ceremony that “started” hip-hop by “biggin’ up” tha DJ/music to Move tha Crowd and that “lyricists” and “content oriented” artists like ya Rakims, KRS’, Nas’, Jay’s, etc, etc are tha “rappers” because they “rap” words/content/flow/delivery around a concept or cohesive thought...over a beat...thusly only becoming an “MC” while they perform their songs live....

I’ll leave this here just to see what tha thoughts are...

MCing is what you do onstage, or in a freestyle cipher.

Rapping is what you do in a recording studio; recording several takes, ad-libing, punching in, etc

Rapper makes relatable music for you to listen to. An emcee makes music he relates to, and Hope's u listen.

But an emcee can be a rapper for monetary purposes.

I never see any the mumble rappers refer to themselves as MCs
