But yeah, all these paranormal, Annabelle movies are just not good in terms of quality or actually scaring the audience

They rely too much on jump scares

The haunting of Hill House was the first show/movie that legit kept me in anticipation of what was gonna happen next

What say ya'll

In regards to the art, I believe cgi is done way too much. I liked the actual art of seeing practical effects and more realism.
Example.
Look at the movie The Thing.
I remember the one from the 80s. That monster was terrifying because you saw many different versions of it but somebody actually made that with their bare hands.
Look at the one that came after that a few years ago that was dubbed as a prequel.
No life, no suspense and too much cgi.
Horror movies to scare me nowadays lack that suspense and thrill of what's gonna happen next.

We grew up. Realized the scariest shit is being an adult. End thread.

All scary movies scare me
Fuck it
I hate that genre and it's easy af to make
U already in a dark ass movie theater

It's only afterwards niggaz judge the movie whilst I'm in a theater everybody jumps when some bullshit pops out

It's the writing.

I realized a long time ago, scary movies aren't scary if you don't like the characters.

The best scary movies are when you really don't want to see a character die because in the first half of the movie you became attached to them.

Make the characters likeable, relatable, funny, endearing, and then once the connection is there, you can start fucking with the audience by playing with their lives...

That's why Jason was so scary.... He'd always kill people while they were fucking....

I mean.... If you were in the woods with some big titties.... What would you be trying to do??
:js4:

What do y'all think

Do y'all subscribe to the "if you have a good monster, you better show it" or do you think good writing can trump the lack of a physical monster

In horror flicks it depends cause when child's play showed Chucky actually doing stuff on screen it ruined the franchise for me

I’m really scared of scary movies. Even movies like final destination scare me.

But I’ll still beat a nigga ass tho.

I do not like scary movies. I believe because of this, I’m easily scared when I see one. I’m the person that hides and peeks out at the suspenseful parts.
