I feel like there's some racial undertones in this. Like the vampires represent gentrification and wypipo coming in to neighborhoods like Bronx where its mostly black & brown population to take over and revamp them to their liking while pushing out those same black & brown people out their homes so the only way for us as people to combat this it to figuratively decimate them wit garlic & crosses...aka...voting and prayer...ergo vanquished them from taking over our neighborhoods and stopping the plague known as gentrification from spreading.
