On the 1 hand I get this and definitely don't engage in recreational sadness for entertainment..on the other hand I'm also very into documentaries on historical events and in order for these stories to not be whitewashed and lost to history they must be told. The amount of people who had no idea this even happened is amazing and speaks to what happens when people pick and choose what history to study
