Havent had the chance to see many concerts due to my location, but the best performances ive seen are:

De La Soul
Atmosphere
Nas
Brother Ali
Aesop Rock

Saw mos def but hes super chill when he performs. Or he was for his concert up here at least.

Biggest disappointment: Nas

I love Nas but he was drunk when I saw him and he kept forgetting his lyrics. Lost his voice about 20 mins in and had crowd reciting most of his verses (he has bad asthma and horrible mic breath control live)

DMX doing his freestyle prayer thing he does.... GOAT

Jay Z walking around stage all awkward and shit... WACK... he definitely has come a long way since then for his live stage shows
 
Man, how could I forget Rakim? In his prime, his voice sounded exactly like it does on record...
 
Best I've seen:
El-P (Cancer for a Cure was GOAT)
Devin (You had to be there)
Method (Good for a crowd surf)
Mos (Jumpin in different sets, playin bongos and some more shit...)
Big Boi (Great presence, dances with back-up dancers)
Curren$y (Knows every word to them rambling ass songs, weed is his Spinach)

Worst:
Talib (Voice all hoarse and shit)
Pharoahe (Did three tracks and bounced. He was the headliner)
Killer Mike (No endurance, only exacerbated standing next to El)
3k (You can tell he ain't really comfortable on stage, only exacerbated standing next to Big)
Lauryn (smh)
 
I aint been to a lot of concerts but I caught Hov on his Black Album "farewell" tour.. the atmosphere was too live.

Also, the time in their career definitely matters... Luda was hungry asf around Back for the First Time.... later, not so much...

I wish I saw Hammer in his prime... I remember some friends wanted to me to go to a concert of his back in the day and I clowned them for being "wack"... they told me it was the closest thing they had seen to watching a Michael Jackson concert on tv and that there were mad hot women everywhere... a total party atmosphere... everyone having a good time

I remembered their praise (these guys were usually going to shows like Public Enemy or BDP) and I saw Hammer years later (at a Casino of all places) and he still tore the roof off the place. One of the most fun shows I have ever been too live...
