Throwback: DMX - Slippin' *official video*

Tha game was not ready for X when he dropped lol...this nigga came out dirty and grimey af wit’ singles like Get At me Dog and Ruff Riders Anthem...nigga made Pitts hot...out here feeding hot dogs to stray dogs and shit....this man was a force...

But he became a victim of his own fame...not even talking about tha drugs/jail shit but before that he definitely over saturated tha market wit too much...dropping albums every 6 months to a year...he never let his music breath long enough for people to remember anything past his 1st 2 albums imo...still a dope artist and at his prime he was def 1 of my favorites

Im not sure X flooded the game with too much music bro, he did drop 2 plat albums in one year but everyone seemed to be bumping both the albums almost simultaneously and the singles were all over the radio, he did flood the game but I dont think he over done it...

The fact both albums went plat means people still bought both albums and they are both classics, so people still went back years later listened to them as they had so much replay value...

Thinking about it, I dont think he put out more music then what rappers do these days, though I agree for the 90s he did put out alot more than what was the norm (apart from no limit)... These days rappers drop loads of music via the internet and put out downloadable mixtapes before the finally drop an album...

I guess GxFR are similar to RR as a label as they are continuously dropping grimey NY albums...
