This the stage of a generation that I like the most. This stage of a generation has so much creativity and brings so much joy.

Peep it,

Baby boomers, this stage produced in living color, def comedy jam, Martin, mad tv

Gen X…this stage produced Busta, Redman, Luda, the Wayne’s Brothers

Millennials..this stage produced eminem, Soulja boy, wilding out, all that..

And now, this is the stage that Gen Z is at, when the world is so fucked…it’s like fuck it

Ima show you how to make a pound cake 😜

Life really does happen in the same cycles over and over again

First thing's first: Eminem is Gen X. He's 52 years old.

Hip Hop artists make whole rap songs that are literally about nothing but how good they are at rapping. That's hilarious. It's the only genre where it could work.

Prince was a hell of a musician, but he couldn't have gotten away with making a song that was just about how great of a musician he was. lol

Hip Hop has to be the only genre where artists can make whole rap songs that are literally about nothing but how good they are at rapping. That's hilarious. It's the only genre where it could work.

It was built on that braggadocio tho. Get two mc's at a party going back and forth battling over who's the nicest turned into records talmbout who's the best.

True. Still there is something different about a battle and making a song. Like two comedians can roast each other and that be entertaining, but you wouldn't expect a comedian to have a whole special dedicated to how funny he is. lol

That’s actually one of my biggest pet peeves with certain artist, they release an entire project of songs bragging about how nice they are. And they never show it, and on songs where there’s a concept or a purpose other than talking about how nice you are. It’s usually the worst song or songs on the project.

you think someone who brags about being creative wouldn’t have such a problem with creativity that isn’t bragging about being creative

The artist that influence a generation are usually not a part of the generation they are influencing at first, but provide inspiration for what’s to come. So like, em is gen x in age, but influence gen y, which birth guys like Odd future and Tyler the creator, which is Gen y, but is a key influence to Gen z

It’s the cusps year children that drive generations. So for us it would be the kids born in the early 80’s young enough to be a part of the 90s, but still influenced by the 80s. We lived in a world before the internet but became masters of it as well.

It depends. Yes, if a rapper is literally just on songs saying "I'm nice on the mic" over and over again, that's wack. That's not really what I'm talking about though.

Take this Gza verse for example.

No response while I bomb that ass
You ain't shit, your wack-ass town had you gassed
Egos is somethin' the Wu-Tang crush
Souped-up niggas on a stage get rushed
I don't give a goddamn 'bout all the shows you did
How many rhymes you got or who knows you, kid
'Cause I don't know you, therefore show me what you know
I come sharp as a blade and I cut you slow
You become so Pat as my style increases
What's that in your pants? Ahh, human feces!
Throw your shitty drawers in the hamper
Next time, come strapped with a fuckin' Pamper

How you sound, B? You're better off a quitter
I'm on the mound, G, and it's a no-hitter
And my DJ, the catcher, he's my man
In a way he's the one who devised the plan
He throws the signs, I hook up the beats with clout
I throw the rhymes to the mic and I strike 'em out

So it really doesn't matter on how you intrigue
You can't fuck with those in the major leagues

The concept of the verse is "I'm a better rapper than you." You can't say he doesn't show it when he finishes the verse off with a crazy baseball metaphor.

Yes, I agree, the way that bleacher report did that animated series with the nba. I wish someone more disciplined than me, cause I could do it, but it would be a lot of work

But I wish that someone really crafted an animated anime like series utilizing rapper inspired avatars to show case skill and power level.

Theres so much lore in hiphop it be its own naturto inspired universe

That would actually be kinda dope if done right.
