damn... Just checked and a grip of music I was gonna post up by Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 was all released in the 60's.

Coming back down to earth here...
I was big into Jean Luc Ponty in college. I bought "Cosmic Messenger", "Civilized Evil" (1980), and "Upon The Wings of Music" freshman year while buying my books. I got put up onto dude thanks to my summer job in car audio 'cause his album "Open Mind" ('84 if my memory serves me) had so much extreme low end bass that we used it to test subwoofers with it.
