What’s something positive that the pandemic taught you?

For Me, it’s which restaurants are good.

If there is a now hiring sign outside the restaurant. They either don’t pay their staff enough to do a good job, or there is so much issues with the service that it makes the pay the staff gets not worth the customer complaints they deal with. Which is why they are hiring

As I’ve moved forward with this thinking, I have not been proven wrong once.

If nothing else 2020 was an eye-opener showing us to keep our hands clean (that which we use to participate in and approve things), to prevent from bringing dis-ease in our lives, while simultaneously it exposed how obedient we are to the TV box which told us to avoid some invisible danger that pose a threat on our lives, yet how slow we are to heed the warnings from Heaven which been calling for us to clean up our act for some time now to avoid the worst danger yet. But let society tell it, "WE OUTSIDE" now it's time to celebrate. lol.

Like I said, the Rona forced people to bond from long distance. So the Zooms helped.

Hell, I'd say it strengthened my Del State family. We do it every week. (well, not over the break), and we don't have to wait till Homecoming to get up with each other.

I got closer to family and old friends.

In the wake of losing an old friend from high school, and almost losing a forreal "day 1 since diapers" to corona, I ended up reaching out to a grip of old friends, classmates, and family. Shits been beautiful. We got families and shit, some of us (myself included) have grandkids now. Me and my cousins back close again and I got a shitload of folks waiting for me to touch down in Tha D in a few months.

How stupid the entire concept of "working through being sick" is. The mere fact that it was considered normal and expected for someone to show up at school or work if they're sick is stupid as hell and this pandemic has emphasized how much the concept of resting your body when you need to and when it's telling you to is something we in America have ignored for far too long and tagged as a sign of weakness

My relationship with my fam has always been great but I was living hours away from my fam for 10+ years. It was just the norm.

When the pandemic hit, i came back to my parents house that March thinking id be there for 1-2 months to do all their errands while they stayed inside.

That 2 month plan turned into like a year or however long it took for them to get vaccinated.

Under nornmal circumstances, i would have never been able to spend that time with my parents.

Getting moms cooking everyday, seeing my parents do the old people bickering, etc. I enjoyed every minute.

At the end, when they got vaccinated, i decided that I was done living far and got a local job and a crib close to them.

Even with all the negatives of covid, thats one thing ill always appreciate about it.

My parents are both 60+. So I know and knew that this is my last chance to ever spend THAT kind of time with them.

Shit really impacted my way of thinking and how I see life.

I used to catch a bad cold once every year..

It would usually last about 4 days or so.

Now that everybody is wearing masks, I haven’t caught a cold in well over a year.

Probably the first time in my life that has ever happened.

No sneezing, coughing, runny/stuffy nose, sore throat at all this year.

That can’t just be a coincidence.

Awww man this just hit me. My grandpa been asking me when I'm coming to see him literally every time I get on the phone with him. I'm like man idk....cuz I refuse to get on a plane and I'd feel horrible if I caught that shit and passed it to him.

But lately I been feeling like I need to just go do it cuz who knows how long he gon be here. And this just put the battery in my back.
